Our Story

History of Saint Francis Nursing Home

Our Beginning

Saint Francis Nursing Home was founded in 1970 by the Seraphic Sisters, a community devoted to serving the sick, elderly, and those in need. Since its opening, the home has provided compassionate, faith-based care, honoring the dignity and well-being of every resident.

Over the decades, Saint Francis has grown into a multicultural and welcoming community, offering nursing care, independent living, and specialized housing for our Sisters.

The Seraphic Sisters

The Heart of Our Mission

The Seraphic Sisters (Daughters of Our Lady of Sorrows) were founded in Poland by Blessed Honorat Koźmiński and Blessed Mother Małgorzata Szewczyk.

Guided by the Franciscan values of humility, simplicity, and service, the Sisters dedicate their lives to the care of the sick, elderly, and disadvantaged. Their presence and devotion are the foundation of everything we do at Saint Francis Nursing Home.

Multicultural & Polish Language

Celebrating our Heritage

Polish

Saint Francis Nursing Home jest prowadzony przez Zgromadzenie Córek Matki Bożej Bolesnej (Serafitki), założone przez Bł. O. Honorata Koźmińskiego i Bł.

Zapraszamy do kontaktu w jezyku polskim!

In addition, our home in San Antonio hosts spiritual retreats attended by various groups, taking advantage of the peaceful environment and opportunities for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
